Ashley embodies over 15 years as a Pilates Practitioner, 23 years of Royal Academy of Dance Classical Ballet training and 7 years as a dance instructor – all wrapped together by the natural enthusiasm she brings to her teaching.

Ashley initially entered the Pilates world studying the New York Method. In 2000 Ashley met her mentor Rael Isacowitz and immediately fell in love with the BASI Pilates Method. She re-did her entire Pilates training under Rael and started teaching as a BASI Pilates instructor in 2001. Ashley is also qualified to teach Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis.

In 2004 Body Mechanix Wellness Centre became a host studio for BASI Comprehensive and Mat Courses in Johannesburg. Ashley developed the BASI “Pilates Through Pregnancy and Beyond” workshop which has become one of the most popular and well attended BASI workshops in South Africa, and is now part of the international BASI Advanced Continued Education Program.

Ashley was appointed as a faculty member for BASI and presents BASI Pilates courses globally, from South Africa to Bahrain, from Greece to Indonesia and as far afield as Japan. All Ashley’s expertise is yours for the asking at Body Mechanix.

Mark has been a gold medallist several times in Iron Man. He is passionate about triathlons and mountain biking. He regularly rides the Cape Argus. He rarely misses the 94.7. He has run silver Comrades, the Duzi and Cape Epic. As member of the Air Force, he cycled for the Defense Force.

Mark leads from the front. Training anyone from serious Iron Man contenders to post-cardiac recuperators. From health conscious business women to body conscious teenagers.
